2022 Annual Season Database

$29.95

The 2022 Annual Season Database was released on December 20th, 2022 and is now available for order and immediate download from our online store.

The 2022 Annual Season Database is packed with information, including everything you need to play games using teams and players from the 2022 season -- a full set of ratings and statistics for every player who appeared in the big leagues this year; full team rosters; manager profiles; updated ballpark ratings; a full set of real-life transactions and game-by-game lineups for season replays; and two versions of the inter-league schedule (as-scheduled and as-played). Statistics include official batting, pitching and fielding totals with left/right splits for all batters and pitchers.

The "Starting Pitcher as DH" rule

Beginning in 2022, MLB introduced a new Starting Pitcher as Designated Hitter rule -- commonly known as the "Ohtani rule". This rule allows a team to choose the same player as both the starting pitcher and designated hitter (DH) and then make in-game substitutions as if there are two different players in the lineup.

If you have the version 12a patch installed, this new rule can be set with the "Starting pitcher as DH" option in your League or Organization's Rules/options page and will be enabled by default for the 2022 season.

Therefore, it is necessary to have the version 12a patch installed to be able to play the 2022 season and take advantage of this new rule.

If you don't already own the Diamond Mind Baseball: Version 12 game you can buy the game together with the 2022 Annual Season Database and save $10 off the total price.  Add both items to your cart and enter the shopping code NEW2022BUN on the checkout page to apply the discount.

Version 12a Patch

The Version 12a Patch

On Friday, December 16th, we released a software patch for the version 12 game. This update includes support for MLB's new Starting Pitcher as Designated Hitter rule, otherwise known as the "Ohtani rule" as well a number of other enhancements and bug fixes.

We wanted to make sure that this update was ready before the 2022 season database because support for allowing a starting pitcher to also appear in the lineup as the Designated Hitter will be a necessary enhancement for anyone wishing to replay the 2022 season and for leagues that will be based on the 2022 database.

We have created a Version 12a Patch information page that includes all of the details about this update, including a list of the fixes along with download and installation instructions.

The "Ohtani Rule" and the 2022 Season

The 2022 Annual Season Season Database will be ready for release on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022.

Beginning in 2022, MLB introduced a new Starting Pitcher as Designated Hitter rule (Rule 5.11(b)) -- commonly known as the "Ohtani rule".

Therefore, it will be necessary to have the version 12a patch installed to be able to play the 2022 season and take advantage of this new rule.
